collapsed house

I dreamt I was a collapsed house entire parts of me caved in scattered as rubble and reeking of rain-soaked ruin peering out through the old and weatherworn floorboards

I dreamt I was
a collapsed
house
entire parts of me
caved in
scattered as rubble
and reeking
of rain-soaked ruin
peering out through
the old
and weatherworn floorboards
where my eyes were living
watching the sky
through the holes
in my roof
water drowning out
the light
the stomach aching
with clenched fists
holding tightly
while the door was
wide open
inviting me
out.

Perhaps I am closer
than ever
to being born again
the total collapse
nothing left
no broken houses
of before
to return to.
Perhaps I am closer
than ever
to being born
again.
